Whether you have a full-time job or a part-time job, you are a student, or you are a stay-at-home parent, you can face burnout. Burnout can be shown as physical or emotional exhaustion from doing something. Chances are that you will face burnout at least once in your life, it can be shown differently in different people, it depends on people’s personality, and ability to practice self-care.
1) You are always tired
Are you constantly tired during the day? Or do you feel like coffee is not enough? Burnout can be manifested in different ways, and one of this is feeling constantly tired, like sleeping is not enough. Sometimes, you can even be having trouble sleeping.
2) You have no motivation
You do not feel like doing things. You do not feel motivated to wake up in the morning and go ahead with your usual routine. It is okay to feel like this from time to time, but if you feel like you have no motivation on a day to day basis, then that is a sign you are burnout.
3) You feel emotionally overwhelmed
You have the feeling that you are not good enough, or that whatever it is that you do is n ot enough to be successful. You feel like you do not have enough time in the day to accomplish all of the things you want.
4) Easily Triggered
Everything makes you upset. You are crying easily, which is not common for you. You get irritated by everything. This is one of the most common signs of Burnout, because it shows that your body is easily annoyed by things that are surrounding you, things that are usually common in your life and that you can easily do.
5) Change in your personality
If you are an extrovert person who usually loves being with others, and now you find yourself being alone, you do not feel motivation to hangout with other, you do not feel like being with your friends. If you are an introvert person who find joy in staying at home and cuddle with a book, but now you do not enjoy your me time or any of the bobbies you used to have find joy in. Your personality is changing.
There are many different ways to “fix” your burnout. The first thing is that you should know that it is not that uncommon to feel burnout, and that it does not make you a bad person if you feel like like you are spreading yourself too thin. It is okay to take a step back and take a break, and it does not matter how long or how short your break is, we are all different and it is okay if you need more time to rest than others. Remember to do things that make you feel happy. Find time for your “Me Time” and enjoy doing something you love, start a hobby or just take some time to do nothing and just enjoy being with yourself.
