Many of us have had that feeling where the only thing we want is to already have healthy habits that help us with our life. It takes 21 days to build and stick to a new habit, and I want to show you about 10 different things you can do every single day in order to build habits that will stick.
1) Write a to-do list
I love writing to do lists, the thought of writing down everything I have to do on a day gives me an ease of mind. And you know what is even better?? The satisfaction of crossing out a tasks that has been completed. Writing a to-do list is important because it helps you be organized, it is also very helpful to keep track of everything you have to do.
2) Prepare your clothes the night before
I don’t know about you, but I was one of those people who would spend a hot minute looking for what I would wear that day, which sometimes used to make me late to start my day. I realized that by choosing my outfit the night before is the best thing to do so I won’t waste time in the morning.
3) SLEEP 7 HOURS AT NIGHT
Sleeping is very important, it’s what keep us pretty. In addition to that, sleeping enough is what helps you with your memory, your mood, your health, and so on. It is very important the we prioritize sleeping, and getting into a good sleeping schedule is going to help you change your life for the better.
4) Wake up early
This is a difficult one for a lot of people, especially to the night owls. I want to say that a have a very useful trick to start waking up early and getting into a good sleeping routine. The first thing that you have to do it waking up early one day, it doesn’t matter how late you went to bed to the night before. You are probably going to be super tired, but it will help you to go to sleep early on that day, and if you keep doing this for at least a week then you will see that going to sleep early and waking up early becomes easier and easier.
5) Make your Bed
As you as you wake up, get out of your bed and make it! This will help you being more organized in your bedroom. It is also the first ‘tasks’ you can do every morning, and you can cross it of your to-do list. It will only take you a couple of minutes to complete this task, but it will give you the sensation that you have accomplished at least one thing on that day.
6) Take your vitamins
I know sometimes it’s difficult to remember to take your vitamins every day, and at the times you’re supposed to take them. In that case, try to make taking your vitamins as obvious as you can. Put them in your kitchen counter, on top of your nightstand, next to your bed, in your desk, next to your coffee maker! Place them wherever it is that will make them as easy as possible.
7) dRINK 2 liters of water each day
Drinking plenty of water is important for everyone, if you are a person that constantly forget to drink a lot of water I have a trick for you. Get a nice water bottle! Bring it to class, bring it to the gym, bring it to work, bring it to your desk. Having a water bottle with you will remind you to keep hydrated during the day. There are plenty water bottles that have hourly challenges so you will remember to keep drinking water, it is a fun way to do it.
5) Exercise at least 3 times a week
Okay, I know this is a hard one. But in order to exercise you do not need fancy clothes, or a gym membership, or a fancy app, or even a 2 hour workout routine! A brisk 20 minute walk is enough to keep you active, bring a friend with you, bring your pet, your partner, or listen to your favorite podcast!
7) Read 10 pages a day
Do you think you struggle finding time to read? If you are like me, you love scrolling through social media, especially before going to sleep. Swap scrolling through social media and grab a book! You will see how you will get into the habit of reading in no time.
10) plan your meals
This is soooo helpful!! I love planning my meals on Sunday morning, right before going grocery shopping for the week. This helps me to meal prep and to make sure I am eating healthy and eating all the veggies I should.
